Music as object, sign, body, and unstable interface.
Yuxuan Feng is a composer and sound artist active across Europe and China. Based in Lübeck, Germany, he was born in Tianjin, China in September 2005 and began studying classical piano performance and instrumental composition from an early age.
His current research is situated in contemporary music, cross-cultural musical exchange, the pedagogy of historical music and fundamental musicianship — especially solfège and ear training — as well as live electronics, special audio practices, and sound art.
His compositional language is not limited to sound itself; it also emerges through the treatment of materials and their more abstract artistic implications. He is interested in how elements are arranged, how materials are constructed, and how constructed materials can develop into a distinct artistic meaning.
